Happy National Boyfriend day

First of all, I did not even know that it was a thing. What kind of weirdo comes up with this stuff?
Anyway, it's been raining cuteness on social media the whole day and I really hope you're not "God when"-ing on Twitter because that would be sad.
I have the urge to read Jenny Han's book "To all the boys I've loved before" but I won't because that's just sadder than God when-ing on Twitter, even though it seems weirdly appropriate. But I know what you're doing. You're looking at pictures and wondering if the person smiling widely could ever in a thousand lifetimes be you. You want the love stuff they're gushing about but then again, not really. You're too much of a control freak to leave even a tiny bit of your happiness in someone else's hands. All the people you've loved before are aware of their insignificance. They know that whatever they do or do not do has absolutely no effect on you and the only thing that would get a rise out of you would be if they were to up and die. Even then, you'd mourn them like you would a dear friend. Nobody is special. They want more from you but you think they're being entitled. Besides, no one ever stops at just wanting more. They want and want until there is nothing left to want. That is when they stop, or that is when they leave.
Your time will come. Or it won't. Or it will come and go and come and go because sometimes the love that we give is not patient or persistent or trusting or protective. Sometimes it is a lesson, simply that. Sometimes it is short-lived, sometimes it disappears. It was great while it lasted. Now, move on.
